Alle Katzen sind schön. Schön für sie. Spacemaus hingegen rocken lieber flott drauf los, als wären ihnen die Bullen auf den Fersen.
Irgendwie Punk, irgendwie Garage, irgendwie Powerpop. Vielstimmig, angefressen und immer in Eile huschen die drei aus Leipzig seit geraumer Zeit im Mauseschritt durch autonome Zentren und beschäftigen sich nicht nur mit dem Zurechtkommen in Rauch und Müll, sondern auch mit dem Mysterium Deutscher Mittelstand und der Frage, wie man einem Fahrradmann begegnen kann, ohne aus Prinzip erklärt zu bekommen, wie eine Gangschaltung funktioniert, selbst wenn man ihn nach fucking Stützrädern fragt.
Denn es gibt zu viel von sowas und viel zu wenig Spacemaus. Das neue, erste Tape der Band schafft Abhilfe: Mit den vier Songs der 2023er Demo auf der einen Seite und vier neuen Songs auf der anderen, die erneut Lassie Singers, Marked Men und die Wut auf dieses ganze Generve in einen Hut packen und dann kräftig draufhauen.
„Spacemaus II“ erscheint am 25. April auf Konglomerat Kollektiv in Kooperation mit Shukri (Israel) und Rufen Publishing (Japan).

All cats are beautiful. That’s nice for them. Spacemaus - that’s Germlish for “Space Mouse” - prefer to get rocking as if the cops were on their heels.
Part Punk, part Garage, part Powerpop. Pissed off and always in a hurry, the Leipzig three-piece has been seen scurrying from squat to squat on a mission to deal with not just the smoke and trash, but furthermore the figment that is Germany’s middle class and the question: how to encounter bike guys without having to endure the obligatory TED talk on transmissions, when all you asked for was a helping hand or fucking training wheels?
There’s too much of this and too little Spacemaus. The new tape offers a small remedy: with the four songs off their 2023 demo and four new tracks that bag up Die Lassie Singers, The Marked Men and the anger triggered by all the nuisance, just to kick ’em all to hell.
“Spacemaus II” will be released on April 25th via DIY-labels Konglomerat Kollektiv (Germany), Shukri (Israel) and Rufen Publishing (Japan).
