QUITTER is an overbearing collection of guitar-corroding electronics. Efficient, one could call it. Or maybe that‘s just late stage capitalism. Nevertheless, this is just what Mainz native Luca Zink sings on about and against in his debut single „Optimierung“ (watch the music video) – hardly hiding the defeatism in his voice.

And still there‘s a glimmer of hope flickering throughout his eclectic take on wave, post-punk and resistance. Total isolation has yet to be accomplished. Molchat Doma has their ecstatic moments, Future Islands a penchant for theatrics, QUITTER brings a vibrant unruliness to the table.

This is not the „Neue Neue Deutsche Welle“, no algorithmically accurate hypetrain that only moves, when there‘s light at the end of the tunnel. QUITTER chooses peril, vulnerable and head first. The road‘s the goal and QUITTER‘s EP „Quietism“ is a first layover en route to no-man‘s-land.
