Here’s what La Petite Mort/Little Death have to say about their new On Stilts-EP:
3 years after recording and just before the new year begins, we bring you back into the late summer of 2020. Our friend Lucca asked us to put together a quick live session to record at Oetinger Villa, Darmstadt as a in-between-kind-of-project to kill time during the covid lockdowns and postponed shows. What we ended up doing is come up with completely new songs, we never played live, never quiet thought through and went ahead and did a full on production instead of the live session we started out with. Result of it all are 1 song, 1 interlude and another song with two different endings (why not, actually?).
The same way we did ourselves, these songs changed for us during the last 3 years. The themes of running away from the uncomfortable and that raincapes are just a there to avoid an immediate problem, are now more clear than when we wrote it in the first place back in 2020.
Oh boy!
This release comes in digital form only... kind of.
We worked together with Bruno, who illustrated the cover art for this EP and we made two poster designs you can get via the Konglomerat Kollektiv shop. Riso prints in beige and large A1 prints in Blue. We are very happy how everything turned out and we hope you'll like it too.
Thanks to Adam Lenox Jr. for mixing, Alex Beer for mastering, Bruno Murakami Anao for the Design and Konglomerat Kollektiv for releasing. Especially thanks to Lucca Riitano for recording with us and taking the time. You made this summer a bit less scary!
